Silver jubilee of Universal Temple. 100 years of dispensary. Ramakrishna Mission is celebrating these milestones

Two landmark events are being celebrated by the Ramakrishna Mission community in Mylapore.

The silver jubilee of the Universal Temple and 100 years of the dispensary, both located on R. K. Mutt Road, Mylapore.

The Universal Temple events began on March 17 morning and will go on till March 23.

Homams are being held every morning and special religious events in the evening.

On March 23, the big day, at 4.30 p. m. there is a classical music concert by the Trichur Brothers, followed by aarti and later, at about 7 p.m.; a public meeting to mark the jubilee will be held at the hall.

The president of the Mission in India, swami Gautamananda will be taking part in this meet.

The centenary of the R K Math Charitable Dispensary will be a simple affair.  The renovated sections of the dental wing and the pharmacy will be formally opened by special guests on March 22 evening.

A Math staffer said that about 300 people make use of this medicare facility every day, mainly because top-ranking doctors see and treat patients here and because the charges are relatively less compared to those in private hospitals.

The dispensary, open from 7.45 am to 11.45 a.m. has 12 departments and is runs solely on donations.
