V. Karthik had been appointed as a new deputy commissioner of police of Mylapore district. This office is located in the heritage block in the campus of the Mylapore police station off Kutchery Road, Mylapore.
Karthik was in charge of the Tamil Nadu Special Police X1V Battalion in Palani.
