This R. A. Puram community is hosting weekend meet-ups for seniors. Local park is venue

A small but genuine effort has been made in a R. A. Puram zone to get senior citizens spend time together.
The R. K. Nagara community has started a weekly meet-up for seniors at the community park that was created from OSR land in R. K. Nagar, near the L&T Ragamalika apartments.
Last Saturday, a dozen men and women who reside in this area got together at the park to exchange pleasantries and  notes.
Artist Sivakumar, who runs Karam Korpom, a Trust which has done commendable work in projects that seek to protect urban environment, was also present at the park. He set up a small speaker, whipped out his flute and played some old film tunes.
K L Balasubramanian of the R K Nagara body says that this project is a soft effort to get seniors together.
Saturday meetings will start around 7.30 a.m.
People who wish to present light standup comedy, or sing or narrate stories at these meets are welcome to drop by. Everything is voluntary here.

  1. A very good initiative to keep life lively, more so, after retirement. I am from Adyar, and would like to partake.
