This two-day dance festival celebrates the work and memory of late Bharatanatyam guru K. J. Sarasa.
To be held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on Feb.22 and 23 evening, the fest will open with an awards event where three people – veena artiste Mudikondan Ramesh, Mumbai-based Harikrishnan Kalyanasundaram who heads a famed academy and Senthil Kumar of Shanthi Tailors will be honoured.
On Feb.22, the dance recitals are by Kavitha Ramu, Lakshmi Ramaswamy and the Sri Mudhraalaya academy dancers.
On Feb.23, the concerts are by Sharmadha Vishwanath, Ramli Ibrahim of Malaysia and Shanmugha Sundaram, who curates the festival every year and is Sarasa’s sishya.
