Shivaratri: large crowds expected at temples on Feb.26 night

The four kaala puja for Shivaratri at Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple in Mylapore will start around 11.30 p.m. on February 26.

This will go on till about 5 a.m. the next day.

Temple officials said that since they expect a big crowd after 11 p.m., the tickets ( of Rs.50 and Rs.100) for special darshan here will be suspended at that time.

Similar pujas will take place at other temples of lord Shiva in the Mylapore zone, including the Sri Theertha Paleeswarar Temple located on Dr. Natesan Road in the Triplicane zone, an area opposite Citi Centre mall.

Many people undertake to visit the seven temples dedicated to lord Shiva on this occasion.
