Senior doctors share insights on respiratory illnesses, palliative care and on organ donation at this community event

Raja Annamalaipuram Residents’ Association ( RAPRA) jointly with Billroth Hospital conducted a health awareness programme on February 16 2025 at Billroth Hospital.

Dr. Mallika Thriuvadanan, an expert in palliative care, made a power point presentation on palliative care – its importance, how it relieves pain and improves the quality of life both to the patients and care givers.  She stressed the need for making palliative care as an exclusive course in MBBS degree.

Dr. Amolopavanathan, spoke on organ donation and on the organs which can be donated by brain dead patients and people who die at home.

Dr. U V Ramakrishnan spoke on respiratory issues faced during old age and preventive steps to take.

Sudhana Kumar and Suresh of Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu, explained the procedure for organ donation.

Dr. R Chandrasekaran, former Professor Madras Medical College and RAPRA senior, presided over the function.
