So what is a Chip Challenge?
The students of Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Senior Secondary School in Mylapore gave us a glimpse of what all this is about on February 7 when the annual Chip Challenge prize distribution ceremony was held in the school auditorium.
Sithara, HoD for Computer Science at Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Choolai presided over the function as the chief guest and distributed the prizes.
This event showcased the technical prowess of students from classes II to X, offering them a platform to present their projects and innovations.
‘Chip Challenge’ is a longstanding tradition at the school, designed to encourage students to explore and enhance their knowledge of computer science.
Participants present projects across various categories, including video editing, digital art creation, Artificial Intelligence, and programming.
Along with this, “SortBot” – developed by R. Sibi Agilan, Ananthan. K and V. Anirudh of class 11 was also on display. This eco-friendly system utilises artificial intelligence to classify waste materials into biodegradable and non-biodegradable. The project employs machine learning algorithms to identify and sort items accurately, promoting sustainable waste management practices.
The event is open to parents of the students here on February 8, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
