Actor-politician S Ve Shekher has lost a criminal revision petition in the Madras High Court on January 2 in which he challenged a conviction and simple imprisonment order in a case filed against him for forwarding a social media post that made derogatory references to women journalists.
The Court refused to interfere with a lower court’s ruling that was passed in March in 2024.
However, the judge has allowed for the suspension of the current verdict to allow Shekher to go on appeal to the Supreme Court.
