Five families were awarded prizes for creating the best designed cribs for Christmastime in their houses.
This was part of a contest promoted by Mylapore Times.
A crib is a replica of the scene of the birth of Jesus and finds a place in many a home on at festival time.
In recent times, households have incorporated current themes or eco-decor into their cribs.
The cribs of the winners showed immense effort and creative ideas that had been put into setting them up.
For example, Joy Francis who was trained in fine arts and is now in the IT sector, used disposed thermocol sheets to design a mid-East colony as the core of his crib that was set on a side table. He said he chose to skip the popular designs of cribs and opt for a new layout. The photo here is of his crib.
