The senior women residents of Ragamalika Apartments in Mandaveli participated in the 143rd birth anniversary celebrations of freedom fighter-poet-writer Subramania Bharathi held at Raj Bhavan, the office-residence of the state governor.
Held on December 11 morning by Vanavil Panpattu Kazagam, groups were called to carry a statue of Bharathi in a palanquin in a procession. Governor R. N. Ravi participated.
Guest children sang songs composed by Bharathi and also performed dances set to his songs.
Ragamalika seniors often plan such outings, some picnics or just lunch meets, to network with the women and spice up their days, says Kalyani Muralidharan, a key motivator of this group
