Work on a new storm water drain (SWD) that ran through Justice Sundaram Road in Myapore is perhaps the most unforgettable, despised civic project in recent time in the neighbourhood.
Not because it was a standard civic job that GCC’s contractors undertake. It was perhaps the most badly executed project whose ideators failed to visualise over a year ago, of GCC’s zonal RDC dismissing key issues raised by local residents and it was executed crudely over the past many weeks.
The SWD job is over.
Now, the road-is being relaid and the contractor says the road will be ready by Dec.15.
If it is relaid well, it will be a huge relief to the residents of Ramarao Road , Ramachandra Road and Justice Sundaram Road.
