Natya Darshan, the Season-time academic sessions on classical dance that is hosted by Kartik Fine Arts, got underway on Friday ( Dec.13) with an awards evening and a dance recital.
The sessions and concerts are at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore.
This weekend, speakers will focus on various aspects of the theme of Trikaranam. This seminar is curated by Narthaki Nataraj.
Included in Saturday’s programme is a discussion on ‘Dancing in the Insta World’ and a talk by dance teacher Chandrasekaran Kittappa Pillai. There are two concerts in the evening.
Sunday’s schedule includes a discussion on ‘What the purpose of Dance is; to entertain or elevate?” – with the Dhananjayans on stage besides others on the panel
Neena Prasad ( Mohiniattam) and Leela Samson’s Spanda dance company will perform Sunday evening ( paid shows).
