The 28th edition of Chriscar 2024, an inter parish carols competition in Tamil was held at Our Lady of Guidance Church in R A Puram on December 1 evening.
With the threat of rain hanging around, the hosts gave up on an open air venue and chose the campus hall to have the event.
Eleven choirs from the city took part in this event.
Three judges, T M S Balraj, Sabitha and Tamizh Vendan, sat through the show that went on till 10 pm.
The first prize was bagged by St. Mark’s Church, Adambakkam, the second prize went to Infant Jesus Shrine, Chinmaya Nagar and the third place was awarded to Infant Jesus Shrine, Guindy.
The Vimal Award for the best instrumentalist was bagged by Prajoe Mario from Infant Jesus Shrine, Chinmaya Nagar.
The Best Youth of the year award that was introduced last year, went to Ashish and Arthi from the host team.
The event was organised by Guidance Friends, the youth group of the parish led by its president Kevin V J under the guidance of parish priest Fr. T. Anthony Raj.
