Sri Kala Ranga School of Dance in Alwarpet is 20 years. Marks milestone with dance production on Nov.16

Sri Kala Ranga School of Dance in Alwarpet celebrates 20 years with an in-house production on November 16 – ‘Conversations’, showcasing stories and dialogues from mythology featuring Ganesha, Vyasa, Brahma, Saraswathi, Shiva, Nandi, Tenali Raman, Kali and many more.

The event on November 16 starts at 6 pm at Narada Gana Sabha (main hall, TTK Road, Alwarpet. It is open to all.

Dr. Srithika Kasturirangan, founder of the school, says, “In today’s world of shrinking attention spans, meaningful conversations have become rare. My aim was, through dance, to put children in touch with the magic of good conversation  and help them discover listening, empathy, creative expression and wit. I hope this experience will create lifelong memories for everyone involved”.

Thanks to research inputs from Rajani Arjun Shankar, the team has been able to  include stories from different original Indian texts and languages.

Anusha Srivatsan has curated the music for the production. Sandhya Ramakrishnan has led the social media, branding and event management for the performance.
Generous contributions from patrons has made this event possible, says Srithika.
