Prayers, donations, light events and grand lunch. Community of CSI St. Thomas Tamil Church in San Thome celebrates 166th anniversary

The community at CSI St. Thomas Tamil Church in San Thome celebrated the 166th anniversary of their parish on October 20.

The celebrations began with a prayer service conducted on October 19 evening; it was presided over by Rev. Dr. M. Gnanavaram and concluded with a fellowship dinner.
On October 20, the Sunday service was held at 7.30 am. Poor people from remote villages were invited and presented with sewing machines, iron boxes and idli cookers to aid their livelihood.
All fellowship groups joined hands to provide some light moments with a skit and singing. There was a Bible quiz and other events.
Rev. Dr. M. Gnanavaram,, former principal of Tamilnadu Theological College, Madurai moderated a debate.
The celebration culminated with a fellowship lunch.
The event was organised by the church pastor Rev. B. Devaprasad and the pastorate committee led by its secretary Esther Jebaraj and Samuel Swamikkan.
