Making sweets at home for Deepavali . . .

By S. Sahaana / Student Reporter

People love the special sweets and savouries made at home for Deepavali.  S. Vanamala of Sri Mundagakanni Amman Koil Street, Mylapore is one person who carried on this tradition.

Vanamala said she makes sweets and savories only at home and does not buy them outside.

This Deepavali, she prepared Mysorepak and Maa Ladoo and Ribbon Pakodas and Ompodi.

Vanamala showed us the sweets, saying that ghee is the main ingredient.

“Sweets and savouries made at home are always good for health,” she said. “They taste very good and can make us feel as if we could eat it all day!”
