Chennai is showing 27degrees past midnight. People have been looking for their ‘winter’ clothing. Monkey caps, for example. You may spot some rasikas headed to sabha halls carrying mufflers.
And for people who need warm clothes at this time of the year, there are two shops where you can shop for them.
On East Mada Street is Aadhi Silks. Shop here for woollen mufflers, shawls, kullas, silk ties, silk scarves and silk stoles.
The prices for mufflers are from Rs. 170 to Rs.210. Prices for shawls start from Rs. 150. Kullas cost Rs. 55.
Shop owner P. K. Chandrasekar says all of the clothing are in standard sizes.
The shop is opposite the ‘ther’ shed.
Another shop which sells these clothes is Seematti Readymades, a ‘bunk’ shop on East Mada Street, opposite NAC Jewellers.
Sold here are woollen scarves, ear muffs, kullas, mufflers, gloves and socks besides winter caps and sweaters for children and adults.
Prices for warm clothes for children start from Rs. 25 and go up to Rs.300, said shop owner Mohammed.
