Paper, plastic, board and flower garlands can be often seen floating in the water of the Chitrakulam.
Fingers are pointed at local hawkers and shops.
Recently, in the plans made for the kumbhabishekam at Adi Kesava Perumal Temple which was held in mid-November, to which (the tank belongs to this temple), a metal fence atop the tank wall has been erected. a
Soon, this fence will cover all four sides of the tank.
