World Sunday School Day, which falls on the first Sunday in November every year, was celebrated as Children’s Sunday in the morning worship service at CSI St. Thomas English Church on November 3.
The Sunday School children and teachers took an active role in the worship, singing songs, acting out a skit, and reading Scripture and the liturgy.
Roopa Daniel, a Sunday School teacher, delivered the sermon, and the Presbyter, Rev. Anitha Christian, was the celebrant.
Since last August, the Church has started a Sunday School in Tamil, for the benefit of the children in the neighbourhood. The children from the Tamil class also joined in the service.
Children from Street Vision Home – an NGO that works to uplift the lives of underprivileged children – also participated.
A children’s retreat was held after the service.
