Senior citizen K R Jambunathan and his wife had a narrow escape this evening when what seemed to be a dead branch of a tree off Sri Mundagakanni Amman Kpil Street came crashing down.
The tree is located inside the Angala Parmeswari Temple.’ The branch, a big one that had blocked traffic, was removed by civic staff after Jambunathan reported it on the WA groups of the local MLA and ward councillor.
Jambunathan says that a week ago, a tree by the roadside here had come crashing down.
He says that GCC needs to ask its staff to do another check of avenues trees and see if they pose a danger after the first set of rains.
