Sakambari Women’s Group’s unit in R. A. Puram celebrated Navaratri on October 8 at
44, Third Main Road, R. A. Puram in a small way.
About 30 women and children participated.
The highlight of the function was chanting slokas and honouring nine women and about 10 girl students of Lady Sivaswami Ayyar Girls School, Mylapore.
They were given gifts and lunch packets. The children also sang devotional songs.
The significance of Navaratri as victory of virtue over vice was explained to the participants by Dr. Raji Rao, president of the group.
