Residents of 1st Cross Street in CIT Colony want GCC to address flooding issues

Residents of 1st Cross Street in CIT Colony say the area gets flooded after a spell of rain and this has happened last fortnight when it rained.

Uma Shankar said, “Water logging took place inside our building after about  just two hours of downpour. If the rain had continued for another hour, water would have entered inside our flat. “

Uma says she is worried because she takes care of a 96-year-old and 70-year-old, bedridden people.

She wrote; “It is a miracle how they survived during the Michaung cyclone, last December, though the contaminated water resulted in hospitalisation. We faced huge material loss, as well.”

Residents like Uma want local GCC officials to take stock of the situation before the monsoon breaks out.
