There is tradition that is kept at the Ramakrishna Mission Students Home, Mylapore on Deepavali day – the students who board and study here, get up early, have a bath, wear fresh clothes and after a prayer burst a set of fire crackers.
The Home’s monks are at hand to supervise and join the celebrations.
Generations of boys who have been at the Home recall the Deepavali morning with warmth.
