The larger Mylapore zone’s streets were jam packed this morning as people made their way to the IAF air show on the Marina.
And those who did not want to be on the sands at the best point on the Marina, camped around the Light House and on Marina Loop Road.
Also, many high rises aliong the Marina were vantage points. Priests and nuns gathered at the block inside St Bede’s AI School in San Thome to watch the show.
And for the residents of the high rises in the kuppam zone of the Marina, their terraces were good watch points though the commentary on the public audio system did not reach here.
The MRTS trains were jam-packed but people headed for the show said the services should have been multiplied.
Government didn’t care about the common people . I saw many people lying on road exhausted.
Action should be taken on officers who blocked the road when people were trying to go out near thiruvalluvar statue. Who does that ??? Worst management. Will never ever go on a government recognised event. We were suffocated and dehydrated .Got a new life yesterday. Feel bad about those people who died and suffered due to this.
TN Govt is only interested in TASMAC Revenue and not basic water for people came to Airshow. Basic water would hv 90 peopke swooning and 5 from dying
