Tucked in a quiet spot, far from the Madding crowd, yet close to it, this hall is slick yet homely, spacious yet compact, in short, an ideal venue for musical events with an audience of about 50 – This was a Facebook post by Varalakshmi Anandkumar about the new Ganamritha Hall in Mandaveli.
Ganamritha Hall is a newly-inaugurated air conditioned hall with a seating capacity of 30 to 40. Concerts, Harikathas, upanyasams, Namasankeerthanam, akandams, small get togethers and birthday parties can be conducted here.
The hall has an attached kitchen, a dressing room and two toilets. A few cars and two wheelers can be conveniently parked in the street.
“My music school – Ganamritha School of Music – has been functioning in the same premises for the last one year. We teach vocal, dance, mandolin, guitar, keyboard and mridangam. I converted this premises into a hall mainly for the benefit of my students. They get a platform to perform and thus become more committed to put in their best and practice.
“The acoustics in the hall are very good. We have a good audio system, feedback speakers and quality mikes. I wanted the premises to be used for a good purpose and now I am happy,” says Durga Venkatesh, Director of Ganamritha school of Music and Ganamritha Hall.
The premises has a caretaker and the hall is well maintained. Cooked food can be brought in here and reheated in the kitchen facility. There is a drinking water facility as well.
