The Navaratri festival zing is missing in many temples of Mylapore.
Even at Sri Kapali Temple in Mylapore, late evenings the past three days the stream of people here has dipped and seems lesser than even on normal days.
Even the concerts in temples are having a thin attendance.
“People prefer visiting houses for Navaratri on invitations,” said a priest at Sri Kapali Temple.
Even North Mada Street has seen a thin shopping crowd and the hawkers looked despondent.
