MYLAPORE TIMES Navaratri Art Contest draws big response. Results on Saturday

66 children sent their entries for the Mylapore Times Navaratri Art Contest held this past fortnight.

And what a variety of colours and run of imagination all of them held up for the judge.

There were deft touches, exuberant colouring and quiet touches to the works.

Artist and art teacher Priya Natraj was gracious to spin a quick theme outline of the visual which was then copied on to art sheets and handed over to children who wished to take part.

The judge, an artist and art writer and author who remains anonymous, said, ‘It breaks my heart to select only 10. I want to give all a prize. But, in a way what Mylapore Times is doing is prepping the kids for life. Life means – we win some, we lose some.’

The results of the ten best will be made public on Saturday and prizes delivred to them.

The others will get a surprise in their mail.
