MLA leads project training women in tailoring, Aari work. Classes on in Alwarpet. Registration open

A batch of women are learning the skills of Aari work at a camp organised by Engal Mylapore team led by Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu.

This training is being given by AMD Foundation and is held at the MLA’s office premises off C P Ramaswamy Road, Alwarpet ( in the local GCC office campus).

The current batch is the third undergoing Aari skills training.

The MLA said that this far, training in tailoring and in Aari work has been given and mostly, women from economically weak families, have attended.

Some 80 women has gained from the Aari training, said the MLA. Alongside, a tailoring class has just started now.

The MLA said that he has plans to give sewing machines to women who trained here and cannot afford to buy one.
