Kalvivaru Street in Mylapore had been re-laid and the workmanship looks good.
The stretch from Kutchery Road end to Mundagakanni Amman Koil Street junction had been relaid; this road runs alongside the Buckingham Canal.
And since it is a busy link road for traffic, the relaying was important.
On the other hand, work on the new storm water drain ( SWD) in this area is going on near what used to be Thanni Thurai Market. The narrow stretch towards Royappettah High Road had been shut for motorists.
