His Holiness was received with poornakumbha and recitation of Birudavali by a huge congregation of devotees at ‘Sudharma’, the residence of A. Krishnamoorthy, group chairman of Amalgamations Group, on Dr. Radhakrishnan Salai, Mylapore.

Mallka Srinivasan and Venu Srinivasan were amongst the dignitaries who welcomed the swamiji.

It also happened to be the auspicious occasion of the 132nd Jayanti of the 34th Acharya of the Peetham Jagadguru Sri Sri Chandrashekhara Bharati Mahaswami.

The Jayanti day sadas opened with a speech by Swami Sivagnananda of Chinmaya Mission Madurai on ‘Thoughts from Viveka Choodamani’. He spoke eloquently about this monumental work of Adi Shankara, based on the bhashyam written by the Jagadguru.

In His benedictory address, His Holiness expressed profuse appreciation to the devotees of Chennai in organizing such a grand welcome for His entourage.

He recalled the visits made by His predecessor Acharyas to this city in the past. His visit now being marked by the Jayanti Mahotsavam of the 34th Acharya made it extra special, offered His blessings to all the devotees. After the speech, His Holiness performed Sri Sharada Chandramouleeswara Puja.

Elaborate arrangements have been made for the devotees to participate in the pujas and bhiksha vandanam of the Acharya at this venue. A separate dining area is also set up for the benefit of the visiting devotees.

  1. Based on my lecture series for the Sringeri Vidya Bharati Foundation (SVBF North), USA, I have just completed a book on ‘The Glory of the Great Mother Goddess in Lalitha Sahasranamam.’ I would like this book to be released by His Holiness Sri Sringeri Sannidhanam. Whom do I contact in this regard? Appreciate your guidance. Thanks.

  2. Can General public visit the place and seek His blessings. Or any prior permission is required because I find that the gate of this bungalow is always closed.
