Being a holiday, there has been a huge crowd on two sides of the tank of Sri Kapali Temple for mahalaya amavasai, as people performed rituals for those who have passed on.
Queues began to form as early as 5 am on the R K Mutt Road and the South Mada Street side of the tank as priests sat on the pavement and did the rituals.
People were not allowed inside the temple tank.
There was order in the zone and Urbaser Sumeet staff who clear waste were around to clear the waste left behind.
Why not temple authorities open up the tank gates and allow devotees to take bath and perform rituals on important dates? That will be appreciated by all and also lesson the crowd . HRCE should also look into this.
