More bigger places affected by the ongoing Chennai Metro work are shutting down. The latest is
Hotel Deccan Plaza on Royapettah High Road which shut down some weeks ago.
Seniors of Mylapore would remember the famous Hotel Ajanta on Royapettah High Road, off the Jammi Buildings point. In that place, came the Regenta Central Deccan Plaza.
It had a successful run of many years but the blockades of the main road here badly affected its clientele.
Since this project will take a few years to complete, the management of the hotel had decided to shut the hotel.
We hear that the hotel block is to be demolished soon and there are plans for a large housing complex.
