Former MLA has been organising car driving classes for women. Latest batch gets licences.

Women who passed the car driving classes for the latest batch of a project led by former Mylapore MLA Dr. R. Natraj were formally given licenses recently at a function held in R. A. Puram.

Natraj, in association with Single Teacher School and Rama Kamalam Trust has been hosting free car driving classes for poor women aged between 18 and 30 years.

This far, 600 women have been trained in 24 batches and obtained licences.

Many women have started earning either full time or part time because of this training.

On October 5, Dr. R. Chandrasekaran, president, R A Puram Residents Association (RAPRA) was the chief guest at the event to hand over licences. He and Natraj also flagged off the vehicle which would train the fresh batch of women.
