At monsoon time, while on the road, there is nothing like a quick stop to bite into a hot vada and have a cup of steaming hot chai.
Aryas Tea Stall on Madha Church Road, just off San Thome High Road is one place to make a pit stop.
It has been a popular joint for some years now; a joint that does not even sport a signboard. And now, in monsoon weather, the tea-drinkers are always around it.
Prakash, the owner says he started this joint 22 years ago.
This place is popular because the snacks like medhu vadai and masala vadai are cooked round the clock.
There is bajji and bonda after 4 p.m.
Snacks are priced at Rs.10. Tea is at Rs.10.
Many labourers head here for a break besides salesmen, odd jobs people.
Arya Tea Stall is open at 5 a.m. and shuts at 10 p.m. Madha Church Road is opposite the residence of legendary music director M S Vishwanathan.
