Savitri Ammal Oriental Higher Secondary School in Mylapore has installed an on-grid rooftop solar system with an installed capacity of 17.6 KW.
This was made possible by a devotee of Maha Periyaval of the Kanchi Mutt who wishes to remain anonymous.
Said Dr. T Suresh, secretary. ” We have taken a significant step towards embracing renewable energy and reducing carbon footprint. This is a part of our socially responsible initiatives.”
A city-based company took two weeks to execute this project.
Suresh said that with the help of the donor, similar installations have been made within the campus at ‘The Madras Sanskrit College’ and ‘Kuppuswami Sanskrit Research Institute ‘.
