R. A. Puram residents present local traffic police officers issues caused by Chennai Metro work

On September 8, members of R A Puram Residents Association (RAPRA) had a meeting with Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) A. Julius Christopher and E4 police station Traffic Inspector, Balakrishna Pillai, to bring to their notice the various traffic related issues that affect people here after the traffic diversions created due to Chennai Metro rail construction.

The residents requested for traffic blinkers, zebra crossings, speed breakers, No Parking boards, regulation for one side parking on roads and frequent patrolling to prevent traffic violations.

A petition mentioning the specific ‘danger/headache’ spots were submitted to them.

The Assistant Commissioner assured action on some issues. He also said the issues will be taken up with Chennai Corporation.

He said residents can see “a visible improvement in twenty days’ time.”
