Families bond over clay Ganesha-making workshop at Eko Lyfe Café

On September 1, Eko Lyfe Café in Alwarpet was abuzz with creativity  as 13 families, including parents, children, and even a few grandmothers, gathered for a clay Ganesha making workshop.

It was organised by Fabulous Fundigais and the event combined traditional art forms with fun and storytelling.

The workshop was led by instructors Ambujavalli, Karpagavalli, and Ahila.

Within an hour and a half, each family crafted a beautiful Ganesha, adorned with colorful seeds. The children also named their Ganesha with a unique name chosen from the various names of Ganesha, adding a personal and spiritual touch to their creations.

Participants also made kolams with wet rice paste on “palaga” for their Ganeshas to sit on, blending tradition with creativity. Each family received a Ganesha-themed activity book, uniquely designed by the team. The event concluded with delicious snacks from Eko Lyfe Cafe.

One parent from Mandaveli remarked, “It was a truly wonderful experience, from the storytelling to the crafting. My son had a great time, and we’re looking forward to more workshops like this, especially for Deepavali!”

Another parent who had traveled from Ambattur shared, “It was very engaging. We loved making every part of Ganesha. The instructions were very clear, and we enjoyed the spiritual aspect as well. We’ll definitely be back next year!”
