Cadres of the CPI party staged a protest at the Mandaveli MTC bus terminus zone, demanding that the newly opened TASMAC liquor sales shop be closed.
The protest was held around noon and soon, local police detained the protestors and took them away in police vans.
Inside the shop is a bar space too where people consume liquor that they buy at the shop. Today, just after noon, there were many people inside the bar.
A few days ago, women who reside in the area also staged a protest here.
