This R. A. Puram community reaches out to people who needed spectacles, cataract operation

Raja Annamalaipuram Residents Association (RAPRA) held its ninth annual general body meeting on August 11.

On this occasion, a free eye screening , blood pressure and diabetic checks camp was held. Over 50 people had their eyes checked.

Seven under privileged people who were in need of spectacles but could not afford one, were selected and their vision readings and spectacle measurements taken.

Free spectacles were made and distributed to seven people on August 24 by association president Dr Chandrasekaran.

A seventy year old woman who was detected with cataract in both eyes and surgery could no longer be postponed was also operated on for one eye days later.  The operation was done in Ramana Eye Centre in R.A.Puram and her vision restored.

RAPRA sponsored the cost of cataract surgery.
