Queen Mary’s College has planned a colourful celebration to mark Madras Day on August 22, with events in and around its campus.
The event, curated by the department of geography will start with the cutting of a cake at 9.30am and a rally by the students in and around this Marina fronting campus.
Later, T K Krishnakumar, blogger and heritage buff, will speak on a theme focused on the city heritage.
Prizes are to be given to students who did well in various contests themed on the city held in the college.
College principal, Dr. Uma Maheswari and HoD of geography, Dr S Geetha have guided the plans for this event the college celebrates every year.
