Barricades set up outside east entrance of Sri Kapali Temple

The HR & CE department has installed a movable set of barricades inches outside the east gopuram of Sri Kapaleeswarar Temple.

They are merged and locked when the temple is closed to people.

This barricade has been set up to keep off beggars who tend to sleep outside the eastern temple door and discourage those who litter this area.

In one recent case, a man had flung a bottle which had some liquid that was set on fire, at the doors  of the temple.
