38 events create buzz at Chettinad Vidyashram’s inter-school cul-fest

Chettinad Vidyashram, R. A. Puram celebrated its biennial cultural festival, “Maithri – Festival of Friendship’ on August 23 and 24 on its school campus. It was open to city schools.

School principal Dr. Amudha Lakshmi welcomed the eager participants in the presence of the chief guest, actor and composer Prashanth.  The other guests of honour were famed pianist Lydian Nadhaswaram and his sister, flutist Amrithavarshini and singers Rakshita Suresh and Vinaya.

The festival started with the host school’s dance performance.

Students participated in 38 events like Adzap, Adaptunes and Green Screen and a Fashion Show besides the ever-popular JAM and Ship Wreck.

The champion of champions title, Mr Maithri was awarded to Anirudh Kumaran from P S Senior School by
renowned musician Yuvan Shankar Raja, the celebrity chief-guest for the valedictory function, alongside other guests – actors Samyuktha Vishwanathan, Bharath Raj, Raj Aiyappa and Sakthi Raj and singer Nithyasree Venkataraman.

The top-winner award went to Rupak. K from PSBB, K. K. Nagar. Chinmaya Vidyalaya (Anna Nagar) secured the trophy for scoring the maximum points in all events.

The co-ordinators of Maithri 2024 were Dr. Siveshwari Bhaskar and  Jeya Rose.
