A theft has been reported at Periyapalathu Amman Temple located on Canal Bank Road (west) in R A Puram ; near Sangeetha restaurant .
Local people said that there was a power disruption around 9 p.m. on Sunday and the theft could have taken place at the time this area was in darkness .
On Monday morning, the temple priest noticed the theft and informed the temple committee head and a police complaint was lodged.
The stolen items includes items that adorned the Amman worth about Rs.25.000.
Abiramapuram police ate probing this case.
