Harikesanjali Trust and Narada Gana Sabha Trust held the 79th aradhana event dedicated to well-known Carnatic music composer Harikesanallur Muthiah Bhagavathar on June 30 at the Narada Gana Sabha hall in Alwarpet.
Srekala Bharat and her dancers of the Thejas group presented a dance medley themed on the compositions of Muthiah Bhagavathar.
Winners in the annual Bhavani Nagarathnam Muthiah Bhagavathar music competition were awarded prizes by Harikesanallur Venkataraman, Kamala Krishnaswamy and Harishankar of Narada Gana Sabha Trust.
Harikesanjali Trust was started in 1997 by the descendants of Harikesanallur Muthiah Bhagavathar to promote and popularise the music and compositions of Muthiah Bhagavathar. The Trust with the support of Narada Gana Sabha Trust has celebrated his birth and death anniversaries in November and June respectively with concerts and dance performances themed on Muthiah Bhagavathar compositions.
The Trust also conducts music competitions once a year
