On Royaoettah High Road, Mylapore, the statue of Thiruvalluvar and the traffic island inside which it stands wears a new look.
Mylapore MLA, Dha Velu initiated this project and he formally opened the renovated space this week.
The walkways are relaid, fresh lawns and plants green this space which is also well lit.
The added feature here is a new clock tower; at the hour, a Kural couplet in broadcast in Thamizh; though in the heavy traffic buzz, you have to be close to the statue zone in order to hear it.
