One of Mylapore’s long standing restaurants for non-vegetarian food has shut down.
Hotel Select in Luz pulled down the shutters for good recently: perhaps its business was badly hit by the barricading of this area in Luz Circle for Chennai Metro work and very limited access to its premises.
Select was known for its tea and samosas by people who wanted to refresh themselves when they were in this area. For those who sought mutton/chicken biryani or rotis and curries, this was their choice destination.
Old-timers recall the 1970s time, when they would stop here for a cup of tea after a night film show in the area.
