For the past one week, civil workers have been excavating at spots in the streets in the Mandaveli market area. A few large packs of cables are seen parked on the road side.
It is not clear as to what work is being undertaken. Is it a private Net company laying cables or is this a TANGEDCO project or is it related to Chennai Metro?
A tag on the cables pack says that the client is Chennai Metro; a/c TANGEDCO.
The digging started near the market area and has now extended to Norton Road in the east .
The work is undertaken only close to midnight.
