Calling school teachers for a project to promote peace, harmony among youth. Meet in Alwarpet

Alwarpet-based Gandhi Peace Foundation is launching ‘Students’ Peace Clubs’ in city schools with the aim to promote a culture of peace and fraternity among the youth.

In a lead-up to this project, there will be a 3-hour orientation session on “Story-telling methodology for Peace” from 9 am to 12 noon on Thursday, 1st August 1, in thee Foiundation’s office at Alwarpet for the teachers who volunteer to become ‘Harbingers of Peace’.

Teachers will be gifted with 21 tiny story books (English or Tamil) which contain 150 tiny stories, each of which they can share with their students during class hours. This idea behind this effort is that micro teaching will culminate in significant change in people, says S. Kulandaiswamy of the Foundation.

30 teachers will be enrolled on ‘first come first served’ basis. There is no registration fee.

Teachers and schools interested in this project can register by mailing to gpfchennai@gmail.com.
