On Friday, the sea was lashing the sand, stones and fishing nets very close to Marina Loop Road in San Thome.
This happens only during the cyclonic/monsoon season.
The water rose and splattered on some of the empty fish hawker stalls that line the roadside.
The sea erosion was severe in the area south of Nochi Nagar.
Fishermen here said the sea has been rough for some days now.
