Queen Mary’s College, the votes counting centre for Chennai North Lok Sabha constituency has been off limits to the public since early Tuesday morning.
As votes began to be counted here, police on the outermost ring of security, did not allow people or motorists to tarry around the side gate of the campus.
The roadside along the campus was also barricaded and pedestrians were asked to use it and move on.
Counting agents had checked into the centre well before 8 a.m.
